Notes on sourcing, stories, and living with old things. Without the intimidation of course!

Antiques aren’t intimidating once you understand the stories behind them.
For a long time, the antiques world has felt closed off, guarded by jargon, price opacity, and a sense that you either “know” or you don’t. Much like the wine industry, the art world, and other spaces historically frequented by wealthier circles, access has often been implied rather than offered. Markets can feel unwelcoming. Shops whisper rather than explain. There’s a quiet implication that antiques are for someone else.
