Beautiful vintage studio pottery square dish by Janet Leach, from her “Repeat” series, featuring a rich brown stoneware body and wonderfully understated handmade character.

Janet Leach (1918–1997) was an influential British studio potter, best known for her work at Leach Pottery in St Ives, where she developed a distinctive approach combining Japanese and British ceramic traditions. Her work is particularly admired for its quiet, organic forms, subtle glazes and tactile surfaces.

This square dish has a wonderfully restrained quality, with an earthy brown glaze and a simple geometric form that lets the material and craftsmanship do the talking. A beautiful piece for collectors of British studio pottery, or simply for anyone who appreciates quietly brilliant ceramics.
