A gorgeous pair of Moroccan Tamegroute candle holders, finished in a warm ochre/mustard glaze with distinctive cross-shaped designs.
Each one has been handmade, and importantly, they aren't identical, with subtle differences in shape, glaze, colour and surface markings. That's exactly what makes them so lovely. Rather than looking like something churned out from a mould, they have that wonderfully individual, slightly wonky quality you only get with handmade pottery.
Made in Tamegroute in southern Morocco, these pieces showcase the earthy character and beautifully unpredictable glazes for which Tamegroute pottery is known. Handmade examples are naturally subject to variations in colour, texture, proportions and kiln markings.
The cross-shaped form gives them a particularly sculptural quality, while the rich ochre glaze works beautifully against natural wood, stone, brass and other earthy materials.
A brilliant pair for a collected, eclectic interior, whether styled on a mantelpiece, dining table, shelf or console.
