Beautiful antique early 20th-century Canadian three-legged milking stool, hand-turned from birch wood.

The stool has a wonderfully simple, utilitarian design, with a circular seat supported by three turned legs. The natural birch has developed a lovely aged character over time, with visible grain, wear and patina that add to its rustic appeal.

Originally made as a practical piece of farm furniture, it now works beautifully as a decorative side table, plant stand, lamp table or occasional stool.

A charming example of early Canadian vernacular furniture, with the kind of honest, uncomplicated design that looks just as good in a modern interior as it does in a more rustic setting.

Sourced in Canada.
